Tres Chic Veronique

Goodbye long unruly hair, hello sleek short hair!

Well, there's been a lot of knitting going on, but nothing that I can show... You'll see it eventually, I promise! (I can reveal that I have fallen in love with this yarn, and hope to knit with it again soon. Hell, I might use my get-out-of-jail-free card to buy some more of it. In the "ink" color).

In the meantime, I do have some blog-filler material. I went to a workshop at Vidal Sassoon today.
I started out looking like this:

Then Heather made me an aluminum foil hat.

Look, she bleached a diamond-shaped panel of my hair!
Then she added lots of red and orange (and even purple). Finally, April hacked off quite a bit of it, and straightened it.
Check out the fancy details in the back:
Now, I realize that April is a professional and that she could straighten my curly hair with her bare fingers (probably even by just looking at it sternly), but she swears by the Chi hair iron. I'm thinking that since I'm saving lots of money by not buying yarn, I can get a fancy new toy, right? Right?

In knitting news, the Interweave Spring preview is up! And I learned how to do the italian tubular cast-on, since Angela seemed surprised that I didn't know it (gotta live up to people's expectations!). This was part of a knitting technique exchange with Lisa: she taught me how to do this cast-on and I'll work out the math for her EZ Bog Jacket.
